About Me
I received a Master’s of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Play Therapy from the University of North Texas. I also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University. I am a National Certified Counselor and a member of the Association for Play Therapy.
As a counselor, I bring empathy, creativity, and collaboration into the counseling room, helping clients to reach their goals and mental well-being. I use a variety of methods to meet each of my clients where they are at. When working with children, I utilize play therapy, an approach to counseling that provides them with a safe, supportive environment so they can express their feelings, work through challenges, and grow emotionally. I offer an activity-based approach for adolescents and teenagers that employs expressive arts, CBT, and fun activities, creating a safe environment that allows them to express their thoughts and feelings in a constructive, goal-focused way. With adults, I operate from a CBT perspective, collaborating with the client to set goals, identify unhealthy thought patterns, and replace them with ones that promote a positive and realistic view of self and others.
Beyond counseling, I love hosting get-togethers with my family and friends, drinking coffee, and spending time outside, especially with my dog. I am also deeply engaged in serving my community alongside my church on a weekly basis as an extension of my drive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people.
